Positive learning that lasts a lifetime
Choosing a dog trainer is not just about finding someone who can teach your dog a few behaviours. It is about finding someone who can help you understand your dog, support you without judgement, and give you a clear plan that works in real life.
At Paul’s Dynamic Dogs, training is built around the dog and guardian in front of me. No two dogs learn in exactly the same way, and no two households are the same, so I do not believe in forcing every dog through the same fixed plan. Instead, I look at what your dog needs, what you need, and how we can build training that feels achievable, kind and practical.
My sessions and classes are calm, structured and supportive, but also fun. I want you to enjoy training your dog, not feel overwhelmed by it. Whether you are raising a new puppy, working through adolescent challenges, struggling with pulling on the lead, recall, jumping up, or reactivity, the aim is always to help you leave with more clarity, more confidence and a better understanding of your dog.
I focus heavily on relationship-based, reward-based training. That means helping your dog learn through clear communication, positive associations and consistent guidance, rather than pressure, fear or confusion. Dogs do not come pre-programmed to understand what we want from them. They need to be taught patiently, fairly and at a pace they can manage.
My classes are kept small so you and your dog are not lost in the crowd. You will receive practical coaching, time to ask questions and support that is tailored where possible to your individual dog. After sessions, I also provide follow-up support such as recap emails, video links and handouts, so you are not left trying to remember everything on your own once you get home.
For 1:2:1 training and reactivity support, the focus is on realistic plans that fit your dog, your lifestyle and the challenges you are actually facing. I will coach you through the process, explain why we are doing things, and help you build skills step by step. Clients can also send videos through for feedback, which helps us keep the training moving between sessions.
My goal is not to create perfect robots. It is to help you build a calmer, more confident dog and a stronger relationship at both ends of the lead.
Training should make sense. It should feel achievable. And with the right support, it can become something you and your dog genuinely enjoy doing together.
